Feeling a bit sore after a workout is normal, especially when you're just getting started. But if your body never seems to bounce back between sessions, that's a sign you might be overdoing it.
This is especially true as you get older. Your body simply needs more time to recover than it did in your twenties and that's completely okay.
A little muscle soreness is actually a good sign. It means you're making progress. But exercise should leave you feeling good overall, not drained or dreading your next session. If that's how you feel, it's time to ease up.
This doesn't mean stopping altogether. Just reduce the intensity or how often you train.
Find that sweet spot: tired enough to know you worked hard, but recovered enough to look forward to the next session.
